LEADERSHIP
Crisis Lens is led by Dr. Roudabeh Kishi, a leader in conflict analysis and crisis research. She has nearly two decades of experience in crisis research, including close to a decade in senior research leadership roles, and her work has appeared in scholarly journals, policy briefs, and mainstream outlets, cited widely by media around the world.
Before founding Crisis Lens, Roudabeh was the inaugural Director of Research & Innovation at the Armed Conflict Location & Event Database (ACLED), where she led the organization's global expansion of disaggregated data collection, analysis, and crisis mapping. She spearheaded ACLED's first early warning and conflict forecasting products, established its US desk, and built its gender portfolio, introducing a gendered dimension into the organization's analysis.
More recently, she served as Chief Research Officer at the Bridging Divides Initiative (BDI), based at Princeton University, where she led research on tracking and mitigating political violence within the US.
Roudabeh holds a research affiliation at the University of Denver focused on improving conflict early warning models. Her research has been supported by the Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation, where she was named a Distinguished Scholar, and previously by the US Institute of Peace, where she was a Peace Scholar.
